Castle Project - Year 8 RISE Math Class

We have heard a lot of fairy tales. Do you want to make your fairy tale come true? LET’S BUILD YOUR OWN CASTLE and make your fairy tale come true.
This project in our Year 8 RISE Math class was to build a castle out of 3-D figures. Based on the built castle, students measured, labeled and calculated perimeter and area of several 2-D shapes.
It also challenged students to calculate the surface area and volume of several 3-D shapes. This project assessed measurement knowledge, arithmetic skills, creativity skills, teamwork skills and problem-solving skills.
