Cybersafety Session

Dear Families,

On Wednesday our students in years 2-7 attended an excellent and informative cybersafety session run by Cybersafe Families, a trusted eSafety Provider endorsed by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner.

The aim of the sessions was to support positive online experiences and digital citizenship by encouraging students to navigate their way around their online world with responsibility, resilience, respect and empathy. Each session was customised, interactive and engaging for the students and covered the latest up to date information and complemented the already valuable messages shared by our school community.

I recently received an email about National Child Protection Week which is coming up from the 6th to the 12th of September.

The eSafety Commissioner is running a range of free webinars and one I thought might be good for families is the Parent Guide to Popular Apps which takes a look at Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.

WBPS 2021 Talent Show

Thank you to all the students who have already auditioned for our WBPS Talent Show. We have really enjoyed watching all the auditions so far and still have a few more auditions to see over the week before we present the Talent show in a couple of weeks.

The acts have been entertaining and character building lessons as kids have been brave, persistent and giving of their best. Keep practicing and fine tuning your acts!

Talent Show Team

Lara, Max, Colbie, Kezia and Elliot.

WBPS Lego Masters 3

It’s hard to believe that we have been successfully running the very popular WBPS Lego Masters challenges for three years and last week we ran the final Lego Masters challenge for 2021.

The LEGO Masters Team have enjoyed creating, organising and running these sessions. Each week it has been great fun seeing kids getting excited about working with lego and showing their creative talents with their different LEGO builds.

A special shout out and thank you to Jackson and Tai for their commitment, passion and for sharing their inspiring new ideas and finding ways to improve the sessions over the last three years. Fabulous!

Congratulations to the 2021 Lego Masters Winners

1st place: Bonnie, Lily, Ella and Savannah who scored the most points over the five different weekly challenges. ( creativity, communication, collaboration )

2nd place: Alex and Eamon

Congratulations to Ben and Max who demonstrated persistence and grit when the going got tough! We hope you liked your prizes.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the weekly challenges and we look forward to LEGO Masters 4 next year!
