Leadership Report

Despite the shaky start to Term 3, students and staff are fully engaged in the learning program. Let's hope it stays that way!

COVID restrictions continue to limit parent and caregiver access to the school and planned events. The good news is that many of our events, such as Sports Day, will go ahead, although it's just too early to make decisions about parent participation. We will assess prior to each event and communicate if and when parents may attend.

Learning Conversations are also affected by the COVID restrictions so we've had to move them to telephone conversations. Class teachers will send information directly to their families in regards to the process they will use to hold conversations. Term 3 conversations are not compulsory and teachers will only request a conversation if they have a particular concern that they would like to discuss. Likewise, parents and caregivers can also request to have a conversation.

We have a Pupil Free Day on Friday 3rd September for staff to further their skills and knowledge in teaching mathematics. This will be followed by a School Closure Day on Monday 6th September which was meant to be for the Royal Adelaide Show. The Department for Education has allowed these pre-approved days to stand despite the Royal Adelaide Show being cancelled. Our OSHC is open for both of these days so please contact them if you would like to book your children in for either day.

I wish to thank our school community for their ongoing understanding and cooperation. It hasn't been easy for anyone but we are maintaining a safe and productive learning environment for our children and staff.

Kind regards,

John Iannunzio
