School Council Report

School Council sends our best wishes to the Chelt Sec community. We hope everyone is keeping safe and well. If you need support at this time, please contact School.

At recent School Council meetings we have discussed plans for the Year 7 area, school uniforms, parenting payments, wellbeing initiatives, and had a sneak preview of how 2021 NAPLAN results sit against our school’s strategic goals for reading, writing, numeracy and impacts of the Covid effect.

Report from Engagement & Communication sub-committee

E&C’s brief is to advise on communications and building engagement between school and the community. Recently we’ve worked on:

  • Creating a communication plan to improve how Chelt Sec engages with parents, prospective parents and the community.
  • Planning for the new Chelt Sec website – this is really exciting as we all know it’s time for a website refresh! We looked at what we want the site to include, reviewed other school sites, met with the new provider and worked with staff on the proposed site map and content.
  • Advising on recruitment for the new Communications & Admin staff member
  • Setting up a non-official parents and friends Chelt Sec Facebook page (not actually a Council thing, but set up by a parent member – here’s a plug: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1564142897264622

E&C sub-committee members are Sami (student member), Susannah (parent member), Rory and Mel (community members), Karl and Jan (school staff).
