OSHC - TheirCare

TheirCare manage our out of school hours care

Program News

Children attending the program have been participating in activities in line with the Yarrabah School curriculum, including hands-on Science Week experiments and Book Week activities. It’s wonderful to see the results on display throughout the spaces.

The visit from Edithvale Fire Brigade and the Upcycle incursion have both been rescheduled to Term 4. We look forward to being able to hold these activities with students next term.

With the warmer months approaching we are in the process of purchasing some trikes and helmets, in addition to outdoor trestle tables so that hands-on activities can be moved outside to make use of the Spring weather conditions.

A citrus tree grove is starting to take shape at the rear of the building. Thank you to Glenn from Lower Secondary for planting our new citrus trees. We now have orange, mandarin and 2 x lemon trees. Work will also begin shortly on freshening up the vegetable garden. Once restrictions ease we will be seeking support from volunteers keen to spend an hour or so in the garden.

School Holiday Program – Bookings close on Friday, September 3rd

The school holidays are fast approaching. An exciting mix of excursions and onsite activities are currently planned. Please contact me with any enquiries. Bookings are made by completing the booking and priority of access forms attached. Copies are also available at reception.

Donations

A big thank you to two of our Secondary School parents - Rachel, Mother of Brianna, and Shelley, Mother of Corey, for generously donating resources to be used in the spaces and on the planned sensory wall. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Donations are always welcomed. Plans are underway to build a sensory wall (photo attached for reference). If you have items at home that you no longer require and wish to donate for the sensory wall or OSHC program in general, it would be greatly appreciated.

Naming of clothing, drink bottles and lunch boxes

A reminder to name your child’s possessions to ensure that items are sent home each day in their school bag. This is particularly important during the school holiday program due to the increase in student numbers.

Curriculum Day

The OSHC program will not be running on Friday, September 3rd.
