From the School Council President

Welcome to the Fairhills High School Community

On behalf of the Fairhills High School Council, we welcome all of the Fairhills High School community back to what we all hope is a brighter, healthier and happier 2021. We also welcome all our new families and especially all our new students. There has been a lot of great news recently with the school receiving news we have been funded for $8.071 Million for stage one of the school redevelopment and improvement. The steering committee for this has been hard at work over Christmas and into the new year and have already had several meetings with both the Education Department and Architects. It is truly an exciting time for all!

We have also been excited to welcome our new School Principal, Mr Ian Van Schie.  Ian has been warmly received by all and has been very busy getting to know all the staff and students at the school. Ian has also been extremely busy chairing the steering committee for the funding.

We have also seen our former Principal, Mr Harvey Wood, return to the school to honour the 2020 graduating VCE class by assisting in awards presentations. Harvey was Principal at Fairhills for 20 years and achieved many, many great feats that will be honoured at a farewell gathering at the end of this term. I know all will join me in wishing Harvey all the best in his future ventures and as we all know, Harvey will always continue to greatly add to the educational process in Victoria wherever he can.

On a final note, we are holding our first Working Bee on 21 March and would love to see as many families as possible attend. Lots of the usual types of jobs to get done; mulching, gardening, cleaning, painting etc. There will be a BBQ at the completion. If you are attending, please register here https://www.trybooking.com/BPLGV  (alternatively please contact the office).  Additionally, if you have any diet restrictions such as Vegan, Ceoliacs or other, please also add that information so you may be catered for.

Finally, if you are interested in join our School Council, please contact the office for a nomination form. If you wish to come along and hear/see what is going on, then we welcome you to attend on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm in the Library.
