SUSHI FOOD DAY THANK YOU

Our Sushi Food Day was a big success thanks to the help of some hardworking volunteers last Friday morning. Thanks to Christina Fernando, Laura Eksici, Asheleigh Hayden, Rachelle Mosca, Yonna Tang, Vivien Chang, Claire Doherty, Sarah Vogels and Joyce Li for helping Kylie prepare and deliver lunches for over 300 kids! Your help and great teamwork and efficiency is very much appreciated! Our next Food Day is in early May.

PIES and HOT CROSS BUNS - THANK YOU

Thanks to everyone who ordered pies or hot cross buns in this year's Fundraiser. The order has been sent and we are expecting a huge delivery of 406 items tomorrow from the Emerald Village Bakery! Orders will be available to pick up from the community centre kitchen during learning conferences, 3-5pm on Tuesday 30 and between 2:15-5pm and 6-7:30pm on Wednesday 31 March. Please bring a bag if you think you will need it to carry your order in!

We still need some people to help with distributing orders from the kitchen. If you can help please sign up here: volunteersignup.org/7AYY4

Thanks very much to Claire Doherty for all her work in coordinating this successful fundraiser and handy service to those who like to fill their freezers and tummies with tasty treats from the Emerald Village Bakery!

ICYPOLE TREATS

It was great to see the return of Friday treats this term and the happy smiles on the children's faces! Thanks very much to the following people who came in on Friday afternoons to sell the icypoles this term: Christina Fernando, Deb Vukic, Yonna Tang, Vivian Chang, Belinda Bele, Lisa Borysiewicz and Dee Dew-Kovacevic. A big thanks to Mel Hewitson for coordinating so efficiently once again.

 ENTERTAINMENT FUNDRAISER

The P&F are running our Entertainment fundraiser again this year.  Not only does the school make 20% from every purchase (that's $14 from a 'Single City' membership), but our St James families can also benefit from some amazing deals for restaurants, entertainment venues, hotels, shops and more.  Plus, if you purchase before 15 April, you'll also receive a BONUS $10 or $20 eGift Card from JB Hi-Fi or Woolworths.

Entertainment memberships have now gone digital-only (no more heavy books to carry around - or accidentally leave at home).  All the deals are at your fingertips, via the smartphone app.  They've even changed their branding, and there's a new app to make it even easier to find the latest offers near you.

Attached are a few of the upcoming deals for the school holidays.  There are some great deals for the Aquarium, TGI Fridays and Zone Bowling, just to name a few.

Go to www.entbook.com.au/186265m and buy a membership today, so you can start taking advantage of all the amazing offers.

If you have any questions, please email Rachelle Mosca (mum of Ella - 5H and Chloe - 3J) at rachmos44@gmail.com and she will provide assistance.

VOLUNTEER REGISTER

Just a reminder about ensuring all volunteers are on the schools volunteer register. In order to volunteer in any capacity in a Catholic Primary School, whether that be in the classroom or cooking a BBQ, there are certain processes that need to be followed to ensure that you are added to our register of approved volunteers. The process is relatively simple but a necessary one. If you would like to help but haven't registered here is an outline of the process:

  • The first step is to obtain a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you do not have one and would like to help please go to the following website and follow their instructions: https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

Once you have your check approved you need to notify the office of your WWCC number.

  • The second step is to fill in a New Volunteer Application (below) and then make an appointment via the office to meet with Carmel Foster (Assistant Principal).

  • The third step is to read the following Volunteer Duty Statement and sign. Carmel will then let you know if you have met all the criteria and have been added to the register.

  • The fourth step is to sign up to volunteer and be a part of and get to know our community!

Thanks for your support and wishing you all a Happy Easter and relaxing break!
