NAPLAN Testing 2021

It is that time of the year again when we start to prepare for NAPLAN testing in Years 7 and 9.  As has been the case for the past few years, these tests will be sat in an online environment. The dates set for this in 2021 are 11-14 May.  Should you wish to withdraw your student from the NAPLAN, please contact me directly via email (Sandra.barry@endeavour.sa.edu.au) or telephone (8368 3311) before Friday 19 March, so that I can send you a form to be filled in. As this is a national series of mandated tests that are sat in a short timeframe, please can families ensure that medical and specialist appointments, where possible are made outside of these times. Students leaving during the test or coming late is not in the best interests of other students or the student themselves. Students will be completing the NAPLAN online and therefore will need their laptops fully charged and a set of working earphones/headphones.

NAPLAN Nationally Coordinated Practice Test

A NAPLAN Nationally Coordinated Practice Test will  be taking place on Thursday March 25, 2021 at 11am. This session will not be marked or used in any way for results. The purpose is to provide a robust testing environment at both a local and national level, in preparation for the testing to occur early in Term 2.  For our school this will involve all students in Year 7.  In an effort to minimise lesson time lost and as the majority of Year 9 students have already participated in this practice in Year 7, Year 9 students will not be involved.  Any Year 9 or Year 7, wishing to have more practice, are encouraged to visit the practice site through their Locked Down browser.  Further information on this site will be sent out in the coming weeks to both students and families. Should you have any questions about either of these activities please do not hesitate to contact me at the College.

UCAT 2021

If students are  intending to apply for MOST Medical degree’s in Australia and New Zealand, along with Dental degrees and the Oral Health program at Adelaide University for entry in 2022, they will be required to sit the UCAT during July this year. Students can now register for the test via the following website. https://www.ucat.edu.au/ucat-anz/ucat-anz-2021/  There is a lot of information  on the website regarding the UCAT, including practice questions and other details, so be sure to explore it in detail. The cost to sit the test is $305 or $199 concession. A late fee is added if students miss the May 17 deadline. UCAT testing commences on July 1, but be aware of things such as Year 12 mid year examinations in Week 10 Term 2 (June 28 – July 2) and Year 12 Retreat, July 21-23. If possible, please avoid these dates. Once registration has occurred it will be important to check and respond to personal emails regarding venues and times.
