Primary Diocesan Hockey

Last Friday, Lucy McDonald gained selection in the Armidale Diocesan Hockey team. This is an amazing achievement for Lucy as she was competing against students from all over the diocese. She will now travel to Lithgow to compete for a place in the Polding team. We wish Lucy the very best!

Primary Polding Trials - Swimming

On  Wednesday 22nd March many of our talented swimmers represented the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Swimming Trials in Homebush. Our representative team included; Camilla O’Neill, Xanthe Cogan, Zara Cogan, Angus Manchee, Gilbert Tighe, Matthew Coleman, Harry George, Paige Dunlop, Olivia Cannington, Ruby Drogemuller, Heidi Cannington and Ava Macey. This was a huge achievement for our swimmers as they were competing against six other diocese from New South Wales.

 

We had some exceptional results with Zara Cogan placing third in Junior Breaststroke, Xanthe Cogan placed third in 11 years Breaststroke and the Junior Boys Relay (Angus Manchee, Gilbert Tighe, Matthew Coleman, Harry George) also placing third in their event. These swimmers will now represent Polding at the NSW PSSA Championships in Sydney next week. We are proud and wish all them all the very best.

Secondary Bill Turner Soccer

On Wednesday 22nd of March, twenty-seven eager sportsmen and women traveled to Moree RSL Club to participate in the first round of the annual Bill Turner Cup, playing against Moree Secondary College. The girls' side was off to a smashing start with 3 goals to nil in the first ten minutes. The forwards, Chloe Makim, Alliyah Davison and Abbie Gray, worked exceptionally well together with the final score 11- nil to our home side. Star player, Abbie Gray, is to be commended on her five Ronaldo like goals.

 

The boys' side was off to an equally astonishing start with Daniel Brown scoring the first goal of many. Nick Fisher carried the team through with four goals, to win the game 15-0. Both teams will now be traveling to Narrabri  to compete in the second round. Best of luck.

Golf News

Annabelle Abrahamsen has been accepted to play in the IMG Academy World Junior Golf Tournament held in Santiago America, in July. This is the largest junior golf tournament in the world. They allocate a limited number of entries for each age group and if your entry meets their criteria you are then given the opportunity to play. Well done Annabelle. Very exciting times ahead!

Rugby League News

Jock Brazel heads to Smithtown on 5th April to trial for the U’15s Northern NSW Rugby league side. Last week Jock was selected from thirty boys in our diocese. Being only 14 years of age this is a huge achievement and we wish him all the very best!
