School Uniform

All students and parents are again reminded that the wearing of non-school clothing is not accepted at St Philomena's. Any student wearing non-school clothing will be asked to remove the item, and it will be confiscated until the end of the day. If your child cannot wear the required uniform for any reason, the school must be notified by way of a phone call, email, or signed note. Please note that any representative guernsey  is only allowed to be worn on a Friday Sport Day.

If you are having difficulty financing the purchase of winter uniform items for your child, please contact Maree Lovett at the school office.

From Paddock to Plate

Year 8 have worked hard over the past two terms, this week they have completed the process of paddock to plate.

In conjunction with our Semester One Awards Ceremony, the students picked silver-beet and shallots to accompany the mini quiches served at morning tea.

It has been a great time in the Ag Plot this semester and plans for next term are already beginning to sprout!

Year 8 Gardening Tip:

"Watering in advance of a predicted freeze helps plants, as it allows plants to take up moisture before the ground is frozen and prevents water from reaching the root zone."

Airforce Cadet Biv in Sydney

Harry, Toby, James and Liam were selected to represent 339 Squadron in shooting at the annual Airforce Cadet Biv in Sydney with 500 other AF Cadets on the June Long Weekend.

The picture highlights the excitement of the two boys about going up in an Australian Air Force Hercules. This was a 45 minute flight over Sydney with the Cargo Door open. Harry was lucky enough to go up to the flight deck to observe the Pilots and was also allowed to wear the Flight Headset.

They also met the Governor General at Parade on their trip and stayed in the Air Force barracks at Richmond.

Whilst their shooting didn’t place them, they also participated in Personal Training/obstacle events and parade and represented the area diligently.

It was a great effort by all the boys.
