Minilit Success

This week, one of our fabulous Minilit groups, Louis Cronje, Poppy Lane and Sascha Bailey completed their final lesson of the program and have now been issued with a certificate for all of their hard work to celebrate how much they have learnt.

Well done for all of your hard work during the program. Thank you to the teachers and tutors who have worked with these students to develop reading confidence and literacy skills.

The Big Write is Here!!!

During Week 9 and 10, many of our learning spaces have completed their first Big Write. There has been a general buzz of excitement leading up to this and it has been a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their amazing writing skills. The Talk Homework has certainly resulted in some amazing ideas being embedded in students' writing, not to mention the amazing WOW words that seem to be appearing. What a success.

When asked what they have enjoyed about the Big Write, many students have responded with....the special pens/pencils we use, the music that is playing, the opportunity to show my amazing writing, the VCOP packs and pyramids....the list goes on!

Thank you parents for taking the time to talk with your children about the stimulus that has been sent home. There is definitely a sense of calm and relief from students when they are able to enter the learning space with some great ideas already planned. For those students who have not yet completed their first Big Write, they will be embarking on this later this week. Keep an eye out for the Talk Homework.

Confirmation Enrolment

Last week, students in Year 6 who are eligible to enrol for the Sacrament of Confirmation, received their information and enrolment letter. Confirmation is open to all Catholic students in Year 6 and above, who have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist.

Enrolment for this sacrament will take place at mass on Sunday 28th July, followed by an introductory faith formation session to be held in the church. Candidates and parents are asked to attend. (This session will be repeated on Monday 29th July at 3:30pm in the church, for those unable to attend on the Sunday).

Candidates will need to bring their enrolment form, or alternatively, this can be returned to the Parish Centre prior to this date. DO NOT RETURN THESE TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

Please find attached a copy of the note and enrolment form, should you misplace the one that has been sent home.
