Passing of Brother Moy Hitchen

For a brief period of time,1987-1994, the Christian Brothers had a presence in our St Philomena's School community.  Brother Cyril Bosco (Principal), Brother Jim Eades (Teacher) and Brother Moy Hitchen (Community Liaison Officer) were very welcomed and active members of both the school and town community. During his stay in Moree, Brother Moy spent much of his time and enjoyment, working with Pius X Corporation and the Aboriginal community of Moree.

Sadly, yesterday the school heard news of the sudden passing of Brother Moy who was returning from overseas service due to illness. A life well lived and dedicated to serving others, Moy has left a great mark on the world. May he rest in peace.

A Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and grandfather's in our school community. Fathers are an important part in a child's life and it's great to acknowledge and celebrate the role they play. We wish you all have a great day!

DROUGHT RELIEF

At this time of drought which is affecting so many in our community, the school and The Catholic Schools Office are aware that some families may be suffering hardship. Families whose income has been affected by the current drought are asked to contact the Principal to discuss any assistance that the school may be able to offer.
