Student Achievements

Misha, 5/6B
On the weekend Misha competed in the Shotokan Cup, which is one of the rounds of tournaments within the Victoria Karate League. Misha won the Gold Medal for 11-year old girls in the Kumite (sparring) competition.
During the coming school holidays Misha is competing in a tournament in Sydney. This will give her more experience in preparation for selection for the Australian championships, which are in September.
She is practising hard 5 days a week after school at her karate club. Well dome Misha!
Seina, 5/6C
On Sunday 21st March Seina McDonald from 5/6C was in the WDTA Summer Junior Tennis Grand Final. Seina represented the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club as the number 2 player in the team. Seina had one singles match and two doubles matches. The team opposing MCC Glen Iris in the Grand Final were all secondary school aged children who were much taller and stronger. Although Seina’s team had their opportunities and didn’t give up, they went down fighting 5 sets to 1 and each team mate proudly received silver medals and a Runners-Up flag. It was not an easy season due to COVID-19 from a preparation and practice point of view but it was a challenging and enjoyable experience for Seina in the end. Well done and let’s get to the next challenge after the break!
Albert, 3C
Albert received the certificate of achievement (the bronze award for Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad) and a bronze medal.
Well Done, Albert for an outstanding achievement!
