Child Safety Standards Presentation

At the beginning of the school year, all students from Years 7-12 attended a Child Safety presentation that highlighted the standards and expectations that we have as a staff and community to keep all of our girls safe over the course of the time they are in our care.

We reminded them about the ways in which they can be empowered and given a voice in keeping themselves and others safe. Furthermore, we outlined  the procedures that the school community follows if any student raises concerns to us about their own safety. We remind all of our families that it is mandated through legislation that we have to respond to any child safety concerns raised by any member of our school community.

The next step in the process is to work with the Student Representative Council and complete a safety audit of the school property. The aim is to identify and address any child safety concerns that are raised in relation to specific areas of the school.

In future editions of the Marian News we will continue to highlight the standards that we are guided by in our work each and every day with our student population.

Uniform Reminders

We remind all students and their families that at the beginning of Term 2 students change over to winter uniform – skirt or pants and white shirt/tie or school pants and emblemed shirt.

The Uniform Shop will be open extra hours to assist families, and in particular Year 7 students, acquire their uniform items.

The Uniform Shop is now open at school from 10.05am to 1.40pm on both Wednesday and Friday each week. Students are also able to obtain their uniform by attending the Noone shop at Hoppers Crossing.

We will send a direct message to all of the students to remind them of these expectations before the end of the term.

If you have any concerns regarding uniform for your daughter – please do not hesitate to contact me.

Wearing of Masks on School Buses or Public Transport

Students wearing masks are no longer compulsory in class however individual teachers may ask for them to be worn in their specific classes. The expectation on both the Marian buses and public transport continues to be that students are expected to wear a mask and practice social distancing where possible.

Please note that students are to provide their own masks and carry it with them all times.

Year 7 – 11 Reflection Day and Year 12 Study Day – Wednesday 24 March

On Wednesday 24 March we will hold our annual Year 7-11 Reflection Day where each year level will unpack our theme for the year of Wonder Celebrating all that is good with joy and gratitude.

On this day, Year 12’s will have STUDY day as they prepare for the assessments that they will complete before the end of the term.

We look forward to giving you an insight into the work of each Year Level on their Reflection Day in the next edition of the Marian.

Take Away Food Deliveries

Over the last couple of weeks the main office has had some concerns with both parents and students organising the delivery of take away food to school. This includes the delivery of UBER EATS.

We need to remind all families and students of the expectation that is clearly stated in our Information Booklets and we ask all families to not bring in or order take-away food for their daughters.

This document can be provided on request.
