Great Southern Griffins - Netball

The Griffins Netball ‘Presentation of Teams’ on Monday 19 April at the Albany Surf Life Saving Club was a wonderful event for our Netball club, and historic in that it was the first ever Griffins gathering. Our players were presented as teams by their coach and manager. GSG Principal, Mr Mark Sawle, gifted each player and coach a copy of the new Great Southern Griffins ‘Values’ and ‘Code of Conduct’ guides. There was a mood of positivity and excitement as each team was acknowledged by the crowd with a round of applause.

Many thanks to Mr Sawle for organising and hosting the event and Mr Nathan Symonds, Director of Sport, who eloquently put into words how it feels, looks and means to play for Great Southern Griffins.

We are so excited to see the netball season crank up this weekend. With 16 teams in 2021, Griffins Netball is one of the largest clubs in Albany. 141 players, both girls and boys, are set to take to the court, with the Griffins 1, our A1 team taking to the court with the new Griffins Netball dress.

I would like to acknowledge and thank the incredible work of current and previous members of the Netball Support Group committee. Thank you to players, parents/guardians, and the wider netball community for their support in helping to grow and nurture Griffins Netball. I wish all players, coaches, managers and umpires all the very best for a successful season.
