ENGLISH

During Term Two we have been focusing on persuasive text writing. This was part of our NAPLAN preparation and in ensuring that our students are ready for the testing experience. Students worked through a range of persuasive writing experiences and topics allowing different opportunities to use persuasive language features. Students used the writing process of planning, drafting and editing to work through their written text pieces.

Below are a few samples of both published and drafted persuasive text written by a range of students from both 5/6 A & B.

More Persuasive writing....

Below are some examples of persuasive texts that have been peer assessed. We used the 2 stars and 1 wish sheet, (same as we use to correct the home learning task). The focus was on the persuasive features being used and not so much on the 'neatness' of the drafts. A very positive process that gave instant positive feed forward to our student authors.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all of our Year Five and Six students for participating in the School Cross Country running event on Friday 7th of May. We have many students through to district cross country (see information in Health & PE section). Good luck to you all.
