Raising Boys

As parents and caregivers, we are aware that not only was it some time ago since we navigated the teenage years, but the world is a very different place for our young people. There are many new wonderful opportunities and pathways for our young people that didn’t even exist when we were their age, it certainly is an exciting time. Current times are not without challenges. More than ever we need to focus on our young people and nurturing and supporting them through the challenges of teenage years. School TV identifies that there are differences in the way we support our boys in their formative years. Raising Boys is an important and relevant topic addressed in School TV including discussions on rules for gaming, the difference between raising girls and boys, relationships, managing conflict, gender roles, communication and role modelling.

A range of experts, along with Dr Michael Carr Gregg, discuss through School TV a wide variety of issues with valuable insight and practical guidance with a deliberate reminder that not only do boys have different hormonal, physical, environmental and brain differences to girls, but boys should not be considered all the same as they have individual differences.

The following links to School TV, Raising Boys are in my view, particularly interesting, and could provide not only some insights into our boys, but some helpful material to prompt more conversations with our boys.
