Brought to you by the Green Team
Meeting every Tuesday in G5, follow us @greenteam.nhs. The NHS green team is currently tackling the school's waste issues, biodiversity and the need for clean energy. Anyone and everyone is invited to join, and no amount of commitment or previous knowledge is required. We would love to see new faces since the year 12s have now left.
After China’s understandable new waste policies, Australian businesses and consumers are now more responsible than ever for how waste is managed. For this reason, it is important that consumers are informed about recycling and support recycled products to move towards a circular economy.
The National recycling week aims to increase the environmental benefits from recycling by promoting and informing for greater tonnage and less contamination, of kurbside, industrial and community recycling programs:
- 6 Golden Rules of Kurbside recycling
- Get accurate recycling information by visiting the Recycling Near you Website
- Test your knowledge with the Recycle Right Quiz

Forest Funkraiser
Forest Funkraiser is a concert featuring Brazilian samba-funk band Rua in support of Australia’s forests. Start polishing your dancing shoes!
From the towering mountain ash forests of Victoria to Tasmania’s unique Tarkine wilderness, the logging industry is destroying what’s left of our native forests. We can save these ancient sanctuaries and the threatened species they’re home to by fighting for a Great Forest National Park, Tarkine World Heritage Area and Emerald Link in East Gippsland. Come along for a night of great conversation, delicious food and funky Brazilian samba grooves to show your support. Let's end native forest logging before it’s too late.
Location: St Andrews Alphington / Fairfield Uniting Church, 85 Gillies Street Fairfield.
This is a public event hosted by Rua and Tarkine Association Victoria, Bookings: Donation between $10-100, (pay as you feel). For more details visit https://www.facebook.com/events/309242313205711/
