Landscape Drawings "En Plein Air"

by Karne McGregor

Year 8A students have started Term 2 studying the Australian Heidelberg School Artists and their landscape paintings. The Heidelberg School artists were inspired by the French impressionist artists who would paint outdoors, “En Plein Air”, French for "in the open air".

One sunny afternoon the class ventured outside with their drawing materials and easels to capture the natural light and textural elements of the landscape surrounding them. Over the coming weeks it will be interesting to watch the students works progress and see the final result.
