NSW Winter Skills Program

After last year’s lockdown, 2021 will be a massive ski season. The NSW Government is helping operators by offering fee-free courses under NSW JobTrainer.

Get training in specialised fields so you can work on the snow slopes this winter. Take courses in areas such as hospitality, tourism, health, construction and administration that you can use in other industries. UAC Digital Let's Chat webinars

Registrations are now open for our Let's Chat series of webinars on courses and careers in medicine, business and economics, communication and much more. During each webinar, university professors, lecturers and student ambassadors will give prospective students and their parents  an insight into their chosen area of study.

HSC Free Subject sessions - University of Wollongong : from Monday - 26 April, are running 18 free subject-specific online sessions delivered by experienced teaching professionals. In each hour-long session, your students will be able to boost their knowledge and understanding of key subject content, and discover what exam markers and assessors are looking for.

Cryptography @ ANU

the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), an Australian Government agency focusing on national security and foreign intelligence. And they occupy level five of the Hanna Neumann Building on the ANU campus home to the Co-Lab, a collaborative research space where ANU academics and research students work together with ASD staff on problems related to national security.

Undergraduate maths students  can apply to complete summer research and Honours projects at the Co-Lab, with a view to future work at the agency. ASD recruits clever, curious, creative people who seek to make a difference, with opportunities ranging from linguists and analysts, to cultural experts, to cyber security and IT specialists. UAC Applications Open April 1  

Applications for study at uni in 2022 are opening this Thursday 1 April. Students will be able to apply for undergraduate study as well as Schools Recommendation Schemes, Educational Access Schemes and Equity Scholarships.

Although not all courses for 2022 will be available, students are encouraged  to choose any 2022 course to complete their application and come back later to review and change their preferences as courses come available. All semester 1, 2022 courses will be available from August.

 

On time applications will close at midnight on Thursday 30 September and Schools Recommendation Schemes will close on Sunday 19 September.

Hosted at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, we offer work experience placements for Year 10 students who want to learn more about chemical engineering. 

By participating in our interactive activities, students will gain insight into various industries where chemical engineers work and career pathways for chemical engineers. You'll undertake activities in areas that concern our industry partners. 

Students will also be introduced to cutting edge research where chemical engineers apply their ingenuity, innovation and creativity to find solutions to the ‘real-world’ problems that are facing our communities.

While you're with us, you may have the opportunity to learn about plasma and how it can be used in medicine and agriculture, learn how to make membranes to clean and recycle water, and see chemistry in action by making liquid nitrogen ice cream.

We are committed to inspiring creativity and curiosity through placement programs at the Powerhouse Museum and Sydney Observatory that enhance students’ educational experiences.

Our Secondary Student Placement Program provides a snapshot into the world of museums and cultural institutions. It gives high-school students a taste of an industry that they might one day be part of.

This program can be used as part of a secondary student’s work experience requirement in Year 10, 11 and 12.

ANU Astronomy Work Experience

The Mount Stromlo Observatory offers a limited number of work experience places to year 10, 11 and 12 students each year. These placements are typically one week in duration and students work on an astronomical project under the supervision of professional astronomers.
