Senior School News

Finally our Year 12 students have begun their exams. It feels like it has taken so long to get to this point, but the Year 12 students have done a great job remaining focused and staying positive. It was great to see the students enjoy the final week of classes and the Valedictory was a great event. Good luck to all students doing Year 12 exams over the next few weeks.

Our Year 11 students will begin their exams on 23rd November and continue until 26th November. A reminder to students that these exams will be used to help determine each student's suitability for the subjects they have chosen for 2020. Hopefully all students have done enough work to prepare for these exams.

Current Year 9 -11 students have been given a draft of the subjects they have been allocated for 2021. These were posted a couple of weeks ago and students had a week to request changes. We are finalising a few things with some students who have gaps in their program due to subject clashes. Once this has been done we will post the modified list. Students will have another opportunity to change their subjects during the transition week.

2021 transition begins on 30th November. VCE transition will be for 1 week and conclude on 4th December. All students are expected to attend all days of transition as 2021 VCE classes will be starting on day one.

Year 7 & 8B salute our VCE students

On the last day of VCE classes the Year 7s and 8B honoured the hard work and determination of our VCE students. During team time, all Year 7 & 8B students carefully crafted origami cranes as a token of hope for a wonderful future for each VCE student.

Did you know that, traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one’s wish would come true? However, it has also become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times. As every student knows, this year has been a challenging time and the Year 7 and 8B students wanted to recognise the hardships that the VCE students have endured and conquered this year. Students wrote a personal note of encouragement for the time ahead whether it be examinations, work, holidays or whatever the future holds on the wing of every crane. So beautiful cranes were crafted with a little message of respect.

Each VCE student accepted a hand delivered crane by the Year 7s to start the last day of high school. It was inspiring to see the mutual respect and appreciation reciprocated between our fabulous roles models of our youngest students continuing their learning journey and our experienced students moving out into the wider world.
