Enrolment Information

If you have had a change in circumstances and any family details have changed could you please contact the College office and let us know. This will ensure we have up to date information when making contact with families.

BeyBlade Competition

On Thursday 5th November, Mrs Holy will be holding a BeyBlade competition at lunch time for students in grades Prep – 3 in the undercover area.   If your child has a Beyblade they would like to bring on this day and use at lunch time please send it to school with your child.  

 

Road Works

Waters Excavations has commenced road works in Channel Road, Park Street and Game Street behind Merbein P-10 College. The area covered by these works is shown in red on the map. This area will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. During these works, school bus services will operate from the front of the College on Commercial Street in the area shown in orange on the map. Families are asked to avoid parking in this area before and after school. The ‘Kiss-and-Go’ parking area in Commercial Street will be available for use but heavier-than usual traffic is expected in this area. Families are asked to consider using other sections of Channel Road or Game Street for pickups and drop-offs. Waters Excavations expect these works to be completed by 20 November. Please contact the College if you require any further information.

Prep & Year 7 Enrolment Forms

Any 2021 Prep and Year 7 students that are yet to return the enrolment forms could you please do so, to the College office as soon as possible.

Remote Learning Devices

Thank you to the families and students that have returned the devices you borrowed during remote learning.  If you are yet to return your borrowed device can you please do so now.

Drink Bottles

Please make sure your child brings a drink bottle to school each day.  As per Covid-19 policy the drink fountains are now taps so students can only fill drink bottles not drink out of fountains.

 

 

 

Canteen Price Rises

It's great to have our students back on-site and enjoying our canteen.

Unfortunately we have had to increase the prices of some of our icy poles and ice creams to stay in line with recommended retail prices set by suppliers. New prices for these items are listed below:

Uniform Shop

School uniforms can be purchased from the school’s main office between the hours of 8am and 4pm during the school week.  If these hours are inconvenient for you, please ring the school to make an alternate arrangement.

Weekly Newsletter Emailed

The school distributes a full weekly school newsletter every second Thursday and an events reminder every alternate Thursday to families via email.  With our new inewsletter you can now receive the weekly newsletter on your mobile phone if you have the school COMPASS App installed on your phone.  Please give us feedback on our new Newsletter system and let us know what you think.  If you have not received the newsletter by email, please notify the school to the following email addresses:   

merbein.p10@edumail.vic.gov.au, with the subject Newsletter Email, so this can be rectified.

 

Students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 who would like to take home a printed copy of the newsletter each week, can collect one from the main office every Thursday at 3.15pm.

Breakfast Club

The Merbein & District Community Bank is financially supporting the Breakfast Program.  Foodbank Victoria also supports the breakfast program with donations of food.  The following organisations provide volunteers to assist with the program;  the Board & Staff of the Merbein & District Community Bank, Merbein Development Association, Merbein Lions Club, and Merbein Uniting Church.  Merbein P-10 College parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer.  The Breakfast Program is held in the school cafeteria.  All students are welcome to come along between 8.15am and 8.45am each morning if they would like a FREE tasty breakfast to kick-start their days learning.

If you have time to volunteer for this community service from 8.15-8.45am on school days, please contact the school, we would love to hear from you.  Please note that volunteers will need a Working with Children’s Check.

Student Absences

If your child is away from school, please notify the school before 10am. The preferred method to notify of absences is via the compass portal or by phone or sending an email to the following email address:  Collihole.heather.h@edumail.vic.gov.au

An automated text message will be sent to your phone if your child is not at school and the school has not been notified.
