Governing Council

Hello Para Vista Families,

It is not long now until the school year comes to an end for the students and now is the time a lot of parents start planning the end of year gifts for staff.  2020 has been such a challenging and crazy year so I thought I would use this article to highlight to parents all the additional hard work and sacrifices that our leadership, teachers and admin staff have undertaken through this year to support and teach our children.

Our leadership, teachers and admin staff needed to:

  • Provide online learning from the end of Term 1 for students who were learning from home while still conducting face to face classroom learning for those who needed to be onsite, often working many hours in their own time to provide quality teaching resources.
  • Prepare additional online learning for term 2 due to the uncertainty of on-site classes resuming and students being able to return or choosing to return to school.
  • Complete all additional paperwork and admin requirements implemented by the Department and Government due to Covid 19.  This additional work was managed by staff on top of their already heavy workload.
  • Continue to deliver the curriculum throughout the year and did so in such a way that our students have improved significantly across the school.
  • Adapt to every challenge that has come their way due to Covid, while consistently supporting our students and doing their best to provide information to parents.
  • Modify school events so that our students still had a school concert experience and a sports day this year, as well having staff utilise technology so parents could still enjoy these events in a safe way.
  • Cope with all the uncertainty, anxiety and fears that this year has brought without letting it affect the way they interact with our children.

I would like to remind everyone that our leadership, teachers and admin staff have worked in a very professional manner throughout the year and have given their all to our students.  Even when it appears that things are ‘easy’ it is important for us all to realise that a lot of hard work goes into our school by very dedicated educators and support staff to make it look that ‘easy’.

Warm regards
