The Principal's Pen

The Principal's Pen
Welcome to the 2018 school year at Cornerstone. This year there are lots of familiar faces and a familiar feel to the College – that focus and enthusiasm that comes at the start of a new year. There are also new faces amongst both families and staff and of course this new newsletter! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this a successful beginning.
My word for the year is “build”. We have an opportunity each day to be builders, whether it’s building our understanding of the world around us, building on our knowledge of God, building our relationships or building each other up. Watch out for how “build” is incorporated in newsletters and events throughout the year. There is a Principal’s Building Challenge coming up soon so keep an eye out for how to get involved in that.
I want to draw your attention to three opportunities to “build” that are coming up. The Busselton P&F AGM is on tonight at 7pm and the Dunsborough P&F AGM is coming up really soon. The aim of our P&F committees is to build community so that fits perfectly into the theme. Families who have joined the Busselton campus have been invited to the new families BBQ on Tuesday night at 5.30pm. Building again! And there is a combined event for Secondary parents coming up next week which will include sessions to welcome Year 7 families, explain to parents how to use SEQTA Engage and also information to get Year 11s off to a solid start in upper school. More details will be coming soon.
There are several exciting new initiatives across the two campuses that will continue to build our Cornerstone community academically as well as socially and spiritually and this newsletter will be the place to find about them as they come along.
As always, please contact me at the College if you would like to discuss any celebrations or concerns. We are looking forward to a very productive and blessed year.
