A MESSAGE FROM MR BOURKE
The Week That Was…
We’ve had a fantastic week at CEPS with lots and lots of things happening, including some fantastic excursions and a visit from the Saints! Yep we’re a busy little school. Two wonderful stories to share with you from this week. Firstly I have been so impressed by our students consistently showing the school values, saying ‘hi’ and always giving a big smile. A warm smile is contagious and it’s been wonderful to see our students demonstrating the school values and making CEPS a wonderful place to be. Secondly, when walking through the Foundation - Year 2 classrooms I have been so impressed by the wonderful literacy work they’re completing in our 100 minute morning literacy block. I have seen students practising their phonemes and learning how to decode Consonant Vowel Consonant words with accuracy. I have seen terrific modeled writing lessons, with our grade 2s using amazing language to enhance their writing. I have been so impressed by the wonderful work of our teachers and the application and effort of our students. I would encourage you over the long weekend to ask your children about their learning this term and get them to share a little bit about what’s been happening in their classroom.
Have a wonderful long weekend.

FOOTY DAY
CEPS Years 3 & 4 students were very fortunate to have a visit from four St Kilda AFL players today! Thank you very much to Mrs Robinson for coordinating their visit. The students had a 'meet and greet' with the boys first thing in the morning, where they were able to ask questions and chat about the players' interests. Afterwards, the players took the students outside for some fun footy related games, where they each worked with small groups. A massive thank you to Jimmy Webster, Brad Crouch, Daniel Hannebery, and Zak Jones, for taking the time to visit us. It was great to see the students having a wonderful time and being very polite and respectful.
