Winter Solstice: premiere of the 2021 Creative Artists’ Film

Community Events Team

Tuesday 21st June (tomorrow!)

5:30-7pm

Enter from Culloden St (OSHC/MPR entrance)

The screen will be set up in the MPR undercover area.

Screening will commence at 6pm sharp.

In 2021, as part of the Creative Workers in Schools program, using music, dance, wearable art, costume and circus, Johanna Fairley, Tara Gooding and Erick Mitsak completed a residency at BNW. This feature film, featuring the 2021 cohort, explores the Eastern Kulin seasonal calendar. It also highlights the importance of The Arts as Joh, Tara and Erik provided creative, expressive and communal ways for the students to learn that remote learning and lockdowns diminished.

There will be a sausage sizzle and popcorn, and a bar with drinks for sale (BYO cup/plastic glass) but please feel free to bring along your own food (no BYO alcohol). We will also have the new pizza oven fired up, so that attendees can sample a delicious wood-fired pizza.

PLEASE BRING:

  • Warm clothes! We are experiencing a cold winter already so please come prepared. Beanies will be available to purchase.
  • Your own reusable plates and cups.
  • Chairs/cushion and/or a picnic rug/blanket to sit on to watch the film.

As this is an event taking place outside of school hours and once dark, families are expected to attend with and always supervise their children. Please ensure that you are always aware of their whereabouts.

Please let us know if you can help out by either setting up/serving/packing up by adding your name to this roster.
