Around Trinity

Congratulations

A group of Year 7s decided to get together and enter a basketball tournament last weekend.

With Year 12 student Emmett Keem as assistant coach the Under 14s won every game and the grand final in their division of the Ballarat Junior Basketball Tournament.

Transport Updates

Please be advised travel and/or bus passes are no longer available to students using the government bus services for football training. Families are to make alternate arrangements.

Please be advised that with the winter weather upon us there has been a marked increase in vehicle traffic in and around the College. For the safety of our students, we ask that drivers not line up in the car park that causes an overflow onto Hart Street. Police will be monitoring traffic flow around the College to ensure safer collection of students after school.

Please note that face masks are required for transport on school buses.

Please ensure students travelling by bus carry a mask with them at all times.

This may be a little confusing to some given masks are no longer required at school, but the requirement continues for public transport.

Thank you for your support with this.

Year 10 Work Experience

Our Year 10 students will be participating in their Work Experience placements next week and into the school holidays. We wish them well.

We also wish to thank all employers in our local and wider community who are ‘employing’ one or more of our students. Without their support, opportunities such as these could not be offered to our students.

We also wish to thank the parents/guardians of our students for supporting them in their endeavours.

Preparation

As part of our work experience program, students wishing to undertake placement in the construction industry are required to obtain CIC Training.

On Friday we had 15 students complete this course.

They are now ready to embark on their placements within the construction industry.

Homework Help

If any Year 10, Year 11 or Year 12 student is interested in volunteering one hour a week to assist local primary school children with their homework at Neighbourhood House, please contact Mr Rodway via Teams. (Every Tuesday during the school term from 4pm-5pm).

No prior experience or special knowledge is needed - just a willingness to help others and have fun.

Maths and English Tutoring

Maths and English tutoring is once again being offered for students in Years10-12.

Maths sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3.30-4.30pm in the Resource Centre.

English sessions are held on Tuesdays from 3.30-4.30pm.

We encourage all students in Years10-12 needing extra assistance with English and Maths to attend.
