Congrats to one of our star rugby and athletics ex-students, Jessica Rastrick, upon her NRL State Women's' selection for the upcoming National Championships. This continues her rise after her past selections in junior state league and union selections.

Training news

A training calendar has been developed for after school training for all teams at various times this year. This enables the seniors to trial and to coach the juniors. It also frees up the Rec at lunchtimes. There is a Compass post sent out every Monday morning notifying students of the training schedule for that week.

Cross Country

A small group competed in Gisborne at the Division level. About 10 students qualified to compete at the Region event however due to the time margins between the top place getters and our qualifier, we only invited 5 students to compete at the Region day, who would be competitive. On a terrible weather day only two girls competed. Both girls ran a terrific race. Jayde Young, 15yrs, finished 14th, missing the State final by 3 places and 6 seconds – a wonderful effort. Kiera Hill also ran a top race finishing 28th in the same age group. Well done girls.

Soccer

  • Yr 8 boys – we defeated Kurunjang 3-2 but lost to Staughton 0-3.
  • Intermediate Boys – we defeated Sunbury and Heathdale but lost to Staughton
  • Yr 7 boys – played 4 games but unfortunately they lost all 4- they were disappointed with their performance
  • Senior boys – in a terrific match we lost to Staughton 0-1 then lost to Kurunjang as they were deflated after the earlier loss
  • Senior girls – we entered a combined team across a number of year levels. We defeated Sunbury Downs 4-2 but lost to Gisborne and Melton Christian College.

Netball

  • Yr 8 girls – in a dominant display the Yr 8 girls, with the benefit of having exceptional talent at each end of the court, defeated Sunbury and Staughton very comfortably. Meeting a very talented Gisborne team in the final, and then giving them a 4 goal start, the girls settled down and played an exceptional middle part of the game to win by 2 goals.
  • Yr 7 girls – defeated Sunbury, Staughton and Bacchus Marsh comfortably but lost to a very good Gisborne team.

AFL

  • Yr 7 boys – lost to Bacchus Marsh by 4 goals after playing the whole game with only 12 players – an exceptional effort
  • Intermediate Boys – we lost to Bacchus Marsh in a very one sided game!!!

Basketball

  • Senior Girls – we defeated Gisborne and Kurunjang but lost the final to Sunbury in a very close game 18-21.
  • Senior Boys – defeated Sunbury Downs and Kurunjang but lost to Staughton

NRL 9's – State finals

Sport Excursion Reminders

  • We are moving quickly to enable parents to give consent and make an excursion payment, if necessary, online. The excursion details for sport are sent to both the student and the parent emails. Parents can only do the online payment and consent on the parent portal – the student one DOES NOT allow access to do the online approval. Simple instructions are in this link: https://meltonsc-vic.compass.education/Communicate/KnowledgeBase/?article=Events.Events%20in%20App
  • All consent forms must be returned like every other excursion to the front office WITH the payment by the due date on the form.
  • No student will be allowed to bring the consent form on the day and/or bring the money on the day.
  • No CONSENT form - No MONEY –  not returned by DUE date = No GO = get left behind = unhappy team and coach
