What's Happening

Winter Sports Carnival

Last Friday, White Gum competed against East Hamilton Hill, Fremantle, Hilton and Winterfold for the Fremantle Dockers shield. In an evenly matched day, we came away with 2 wins in our 5 matches, including a victory over eventual champions Fremantle Primary. Gabe and Kimberley also took out longest kick, giving White Gum a clean sweep of the individual awards.

Our team was commended by the umpires for our sportsmanship and they should be proud of their wonderful efforts on the day. Well done White Gum!

Soccer was one of our more popular choices. Everyone worked together and we ended up coming first. In one game we won 15-0! “It was fun to work with a team and basically nobody loses!” -A year 6 stated. The students loved working together, and all the practice sessions with Ms. Reid. Let’s go White Gum!

Football was amazing. We came second to Fremantle Primary School by only a few points! Although we didn’t win first place everyone enjoyed a day on the field.

This group of Year 5's and 6's are on fire; we sure have a lot of future athletes!

Netball was a blast! We came first in the A-Division and B -Division and we upheld last year’s wins. All the students were coached amazingly by Ms. Di Foster for a few weeks. Everyone had outstanding sportsmanship and ended up having a wonderful day. All the students came back grinning from ear to ear!

Cross Country

On 28 June 2022 we had an amazing Cross Country race starting from Year 1’s and 2’s running the whole school oval followed by the Year 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and lastly the 6’s running not only the oval but around the perimeter of our school. The results were incredible, and we appreciate all who took part in the Cross Country. We thank Miss Foster for all her hard work in organizing this event and training us to be our best and preparing the ribbons and the medals for our winners! We also thank all the parents for coming and cheering on all the students as they started and finished the races!

Good luck to all the students who will be representing our school at the Interschool Cross Country!

This term we challenge you to crunch the rainbow for Crunch&Sip® by making a rainbow in your classroom. Eating different coloured fruits and vegetables provides lots of different vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. Which is why crunching on a rainbow will help kids get the right balance of nutrients they need for a healthy body.
