Photographing, Filming & Recording of Students
Families should have received the Photographing, Filming and Recording students at Buninyong Primary School Annual Consent Form and Collection Notice through Compass last week.
Once you have read this notice and if you are comfortable with the school using photos, video or recordings of your child as described, you do not need to take any further action.
However, if you decide that you do not want images of your child to be collected or used by our school, please complete the form and return it to the school office by Wednesday 15 February, 2023.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the school.
2023 - Local Excursion Consent Form
All families will receive a Compass event notification to provide permission for all 2023 local excursions. Local excursions are excursions to locations within walking distance of the school (our local area) and do not involve ‘Adventure Activities’.
The purpose of this form is to obtain parent/carer consent for local excursions during 2023. This form does NOT provide consent for excursions that go beyond the local area.
Please see your Compass portal for additional information and provide consent prior to Wednesday 15 February. Contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
State Relay Championships - Buninyong Reps!
Congratulations to Billy and Lenny who were lucky enough to represent Ballarat little Athletics at the 2022/23 Commonwealth Bank State Relay Championships held in Melbourne at Lakeside Stadium on Saturday 4 February.
They were in 4 races throughout the day, including the 4 x 200m (boys), 4 x 200m (mixed), 4 x 100m (boys) and the Swedish Medley (where each runner has a different length to run), and they received personal bests in all their races.
They ran an incredible 4x200 Mixed Relay which gave an 8th place in the State result and they showed amazing sportsmanship whilst competing against teams from all over Victoria.
Fabulous job Lenny and Billy - we look forward to seeing you in action at our upcoming athletics day at Llanberris later this term!
Welcome Will Georgiou
We are delighted to welcome Will Georgiou back to Buninyong PS after a stint in the NT. Will joins us our Mental Health and Wellbeing leader (MHaWL). This role is part of the pilot program we were fortunate to be a part of last year, Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS), which is continuing in 2023. MHipS is a collaboration between the Department of Education, Melbourne University and Murdoch Children’s research institute.
He will help guide the implementation of whole school initiatives such as Respectful Relationships and School Wide Positive Behaviours, as well as driving key programs within the school, supporting both students and staff. You will hear more from Will soon and we are really excited about the work that will be happening in the wellbeing space this year.
