Old Coast Road Weekend Pickup

Friday afternoon was an unusual start to the weekend, having got all the students ready and rushing out to meet the TRANSWA Bus service at the Binningup turnoff, only to see the bus drive straight past.

Some quick phone calls were made and a promise that the bus would return to collect our students.  This did not eventuate, and the return call pointed out that they had no students booked for the Binningup turnoff, but one for the Harvey turnoff.  This was the reason the bus did not stop.

So, the lesson from this is when booking the TRANSWA bus please ensure that you book the Binningup turnoff pickup point and not the Harvey one.

Forest Adventures - Busselton

Saturday saw a trip down to Forest Adventures with Sally Barnden and 11 students for some team building and challenging experiences. Students enjoyed the time and were suitably sore on Sunday, having used muscles that would not normally be used.

Students enjoyed a movie on the big screen in the gym and a slippery slide in the lovely warm weather.

Sunday evening Janine Antonovich provided some “Pickle Ball” equipment and students joined in a fun game in the gym area. Janine also supplied the ingredients and equipment to make bath bombs out under the gazebo area.

Monday saw the boys’ basketball team get back on track with a win, however the girls once again had mixed results.

Cattle Club also commenced this week with a large turnout of students taking part.

Wednesday was a quiet evening with many of the students tired from the swimming carnival which was a wonderful afternoon of fun water activities. It was wonderful to see such great participation and support for their teams. I would like to give a big shout out to Brenton Rice who was the announcer on the day and did a stirling job.

Behaviour

Residential staff would like to thank our students for the improvement in the dining room behaviour over the evening mealtime. We would encourage students to continue to improve and act as they would at home with their folks, as some behaviours have been unacceptable.

Student Safety

All students have the right to feel safe and secure in their rooms and dorms. No student has the right to enter another student’s room without the permission from that student. This is what any reasonable person should be able to expect.

Closed Weekend

This weekend is a closed weekend and we would ask that parents do not return their child until after 3.30pm on Monday 6th March.

Have a very enjoyable long weekend and we look forward to seeing you all back refreshed next week for the run home to the end of term.

Dorm Awards

This week’s nominations were: Jake Pich, Thomas Hewitt, Brodie McManus, Jasmine Stowe, Millah Gray and the winner for this week is Madison Byrnes-Peters.  Well done to all.
