Tournament of the Minds

Tournament of Minds (TOM) is a program that involves Stage 3 students. They will have the opportunity to solve authentic, open-ended challenges that foster creative, divergent thinking whilst developing collaborative enterprise, excellence and teamwork. Challenges are set in the following disciplines... The Arts, Language Literature, Social Sciences and STEM. Tournament of Minds is an opportunity for students with a passion for learning and problem solving to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant and public way. Any student in Stage 3 has the opportunity to participate in an audition process where seven members will be selected to represent OFPS in the Tournament of Minds 2023. The teams training & rehearsal process will begin in Term 2 and they will compete

in Term 3. 

Visual Arts 

Year 1, 2, 4 & 6 will collaboratively design and create a mural for Oak Flats Public School, ‘The World of Minibeasts’. Through research, observation and imagination, students will explore various techniques and styles in how to sketch and paint a colourful and detailed artwork with the intention of evoking a visual connectedness to nature and the spectacular realm of minibeasts.
