Our P&C morning tea to welcome parents & caregivers of 2023 Kindergarten’s first day was held on Friday, 3 February.
Thank you to our canteen staff for catering and thank you to those who could make it.
It was lovely to meet some new parents and grandparents and welcome them to our school. We hope our Kindergarten students enjoy their first year and every other year moving forward.
Our AGM is scheduled for Wednesday, 22 February 2023 at 6:30pm in the library. Please consider joining us with a view to assist in our plans for this year. We typically meet around Week 3 and Week 8 of each term to plan fundraising activities which help us to make our school & students’ learning even better.
Some things we have recently helped fund:
*$25,000 donation to establish our new decodable reader program for K-2 students
*Solar panel installation
*Canteen roller shutters for WHS purposes
*Cooinda Cove landscaping
*Defibrillator maintenance
*Providing Kindergarten students with hats.
Our P&C in the past has also contributed towards:
*The 3-6 multipurpose sports field
*Air-conditioning in every classroom
*Smart-boards & upgrades of smart-boards in every classroom
*iPads for OFPS technology classes.
We have some executive members who will likely be moving on as their child/ren go onto high school in the near future. We are running with very low numbers and without a minimum number of volunteers and attendees, the P&C cannot continue.
Volunteers are needed for various positions listed below, but also your skills and experience can assist in helping our committee to do our best during planning and the running of our fundraising activities.
President, Vice President 1, Vice President 2, Treasurer, Secretary
You won’t be required at every event, but collectively every little bit of input and help counts. Our volunteers’ time is valued greatly, and it’s most rewarding to be a part of making our school extra-awesome for our children.
Examples of activities we run are:
*Disco each term for students
*Record-making Oak Flats Pie Run
*Mother's Day Stall
*Father's Day Stall
*Colour Run every 2nd year
*Sausage sizzles for sporting days
Please note that to vote or nominate for office bearer positions, you must be a financial member of the P&C. A payment of $1 is required and a registration form is to be completed, which we can do prior to the opening of the meeting.

Our Canteen menu has been reviewed with an increase of 10c to items (excluding fruit) due to increased supply costs.
