From the College Principal

This week there is a massive shout out to our parents, students and families who have supported our Easter Raffle. To all families who donated - a huge thank you and it is great to report most items arrived unopened; 40 beautiful prizes are now ready for us to win. To the students who gave up their lunchtimes to help allocate goodies to the awesome foursome parent helpers: Josie, Helen, Silvia and Slavica - your efforts and diligence is highly valued. Let's get behind this fundraiser and get those tickets in for next Friday's draw.

Next Tuesday at 7.00pm is the School Council Annual Report to the School Community and the first meeting of our 2020 School Council. You are very welcome to attend.

CONVID 19 update:

We are updated regularly with advice on procedures and actions to limit the impact of this in our communities. Students and staff are being reminded of washing hands, effective sneezing and coughing techniques, how to greet others and, in some instances, self-isolation.

We have had no indicators at The Lakes at this point in time. I encourage you to remain calm and continue to talk to your families about safety and hygiene.

This week we have two new faces on the Primary Campus. Alina is our new Speech Pathologist who will be working Thursday and Friday initially with our Prep students and families and Emily, an Education Support Staff member, who will be based in Year 2. Please make them welcome.

Just an update on Chris Beare - she will be extending her stay at Mill Park Heights for Term 2.  As you can expect she is "knocking their socks off" as she goes about the daily challenges with a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye while her heart and her head are always focused on what is best for her students. We miss you Chris but hope you continue to enjoy the ride.

In closing this week many of you know I spend a lot of time watching baseball.  Well as we move into our last two weeks of term I feel like I am sitting on 3rd base waiting for an opportunity to steal home. The hard part has been done, the team has laid the table for the win and if I can just get to home plate we get the win. Never forget a team (our school) has no I in it, it is all about the we and we need you to work as a team to celebrate all the wins we have had this term.

Enjoy your weekend and get those raffle tickets in.
