During lunchtime on the twelve of August, the smell of barbecue spread across the school as Chang commenced their fundraising efforts for Social Justice term. What was on the menu? Chicken skewers- inspired by a traditional Timorese satay recipe. This year, we decided to focus our efforts on raising funds for Timor Leste, and so all money raised was directed straight to the needs of our neighbouring country- for matters such as providing scholarships for children and purchasing stationery and supplies.

While there was a lot of organising and planning involved, we ended up reaching our sales target- so to everyone that came to our little pop-up café, obrigado (that’s thank you, in Timorese) for supporting us in working for this great cause! We hope you enjoyed a little taste of Timor Leste!
