SACCSS Athletics

On Tuesday 30th August, our Athletics team travelled to Lakeside stadium to compete in the Division 1 SACCSS Athletics Carnival. We had fantastic individual and overall team results! Catholic Regional College Sydenham won the overall Senior Aggregate for the first time since 2005!

The Senior Girls Team finished 1st overall for the day.

The Senior Boys Team finished 3rd overall for the day.

Kelsey Hildred won the individual age group champion for the 17 – 20 year olds. Kelsey came 1st in the 1500m, 400m, Triple Jump, 100m, and 2nd in 800m and 200m.

Rose Corluka finished second in the individual age group champion for the 16 year olds. Tyra Suemai finished 4th overall for senior girls and Timothy Peterson finished 6th overall for the senior boys. Michael Deluca finished 3rd overall for 16 year old age group and Marko Delic finished 6th in the same age group. All of these students had outstanding individual results throughout the day.

The Senior Girls Relay finished 1st by a photo finish! Congratulations to Kelsey Hildred, Tyra Suemai, Ariane Lee and Shania O’Rafferty.

The Senior Boys Relay came a close second in their race. Congratulations to Lachlan Searle, Timothy Peterson, Imanuil Afiuo and Kevin Lam.

The 16 year old boys relay also came 1st by a photo finish! Congratulations to Marko Delic, Riley Bentley, Michael Deluca and Daniel Deng.

Standout performances for the day included also included:

Lorenzo Atonio – 2nd in Shot Putt

Keely Kliman – 3rd in Shot Putt

Tanisha Binios – 1st in Shot Putt

Sarah Rasquinha – 2nd in High Jump

Daniel Deng – 1st in 400m

Congratulations to the Athletics team of 2016!

SACCSS Soccer:

Congratulations to the Girls Soccer teams who were crowned champions of the Senior SACCSS Soccer competitions. The girls won the final 8-1 with Sheniz Ahmet kicking 7 of the 8 goals!

The boys team made the grand final, however lost in a nail-biting last 5 minutes 3 -2.

Congratulations to both teams for an amazing season! Both teams are eligible to compete in the All Schools Melbourne City Football Club Competition on the 1st of September and 2nd of September. Good luck to both teams!
