OSHClub NEWS

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely break and had a nice rest from our long term 2.

As usual, we never have a break at OSHClub! Our holiday program was a lot of fun. The biggest hit was our cooking incursion! We had a man from Otao Kitchen come in and teach the students how to cook dumplings - they loved it. But as always, the kids LOVED the excursions. We were all extremely tired after a visit to the Melbourne Museum and the Melbourne Zoo. I think everyone, staff included, slept well after these adventures!

On another note, I'd like to congratulate our OSHClubber of the holidays - Willow S in Level 3! She was so well behaved every day that she came to OSHClub, we loved having her. Our OSHClubber for this week is Georgia C in Level 1. She received this for greatly improving her behaviour and being super helpful.

This term we have a couple of staffing changes. With Jenni leaving, we are welcoming a new educator, Dave, to the team. Dave will be joining us every morning and afternoon. Unfortunately, Elloise, our fourth staff member is unable to continue working so consistently at the program and has had to move to a casual position.  She will still be joining us on Monday afternoons for a short amount of time until she begins placement, so make sure to wish her luck.

Among the other changes this term, we have started to introduce Auslan (Australian Sign Language) lessons into the program on a Tuesday after school session. We will also be including yoga in our morning sessions. Hopefully by the end of the year the students who choose to participate in these activities will be experts!!!

We are looking forward to the term and seeing what it has to bring.
