Absence Notifications

Absence Notifications

Thank you to those parents who have been using the attendance email address so far to notify of absences. It is a Department of Education requirement that parents are advised each day when their child has been marked absent from school without an explanation. We are now sending emails daily between 9.30am- 10.00am to parents if their child/ren has been marked absent without an explanation and you have not advised us prior.

Please remember that If your child/ren arrive/s after the bell you are required to sign them in at the school office so that their attendance is updated in our system. If they do not sign in at the office, they are likely to be marked absent and you will receive an email.

When you are aware that your child/ren will be absent from school prior to the day or on the morning of an absence please email attendance@jpps.vic.edu.au so that we can update our attendance records and avoid sending unnecessary emails. Please continue to email the class teacher if you have any questions regarding classroom items, however it is important that any absence be reported to attendance@jpps.vic.edu.au, as teachers may not check their emails on a regular basis during the day as they are busy teaching the class. The attendance email is monitored by the office and will be actioned straight away.

If you phone the school to notify us of an absence, please dial 1 when you hear the options, and leave a message, clearly stating your child/rens name, class, date and reason for absence. We will listen to the voice message and update our records accordingly.
