Christ the King, Your sovereignty over all creation is not heavy. You order all reality toward Yourself and govern Your creatures with justice and humility. Help us to be faithful and subservient to what You desire, so that we can live one day in Your heavenly kingdom.
Welcome to Week 8 of Term 4. The term is flying by and we love having the students back with us especially now as Melbourne turns on the sunshine in the run up to what will hopefully be a long warm summer.
As we plan for 2022 there are still a couple of pieces of the jigsaw to put in place before letting you all know the staffing for 2022 and where each classroom will be.
I'm grateful to Kate O'Brien for her support with Hanna and the transition into Foundation for next year. Hanna will be amazing with our youngest students who we had onsite with us last week. We have spaces in each class if you are out and about and know of anyone who is not yet settled on a school for next year.
First Holy Communion - Wed 1st Dec
Dads' drinks - Sat 4th Dec Sandy Hotel
Christmas Carols - Thurs 9th Dec
We will be having a casual Christmas Carol singalong and some food and drinks between 5pm - 7pm on Thursday 9th. There will be a few stalls and some activities for the kids such as face painting and pin the tail on Shrek!
Come along with some Christmas cheer.

Paul Davys and team are hosting Dads' Drinks (mums welcome too) on Sat 4th Dec at the Sandy Hotel
In 2022 St Joseph's will be further developing the approach to student wellbeing. We are currently looking into The Resilience Project and Smiling Minds to partner with to support our wellbeing framework. We are also arranging staff to train under the Berry Street Education Model.
How students 'feel' is often the key to whether they learn. Students who experience dis-regulation can find it very difficult to learn and can impact the learning of others. Evidenced based strategies assist us supporting children as we try to co-regulate and help children feel 'ready to learn'. As you would be aware we have already implemented meditation and yoga into the weekly routine. We aim to be tangibly supporting and improving student wellbeing at St Joseph's especially in light of the past couple of years.
Please help us to collect items for the hampers that St Vinnies will collect on the 6th Dec. Socks, toothpaste, little Christmas presents, tea, coffee, shortbread.
Thank you Sophie for amazing yoga classes for our students (and staff). It's s great way to breathe and be present and take some time to regulate. We will Operoo for a free parent session to experience our yoga and to meet Sophie.
Great to see Andrew from Allstars back onsite each Wednesday morning with our karate students.
Check out the website for bookings if you are interested.

Last Wednesday our nimble year 6 students went toe-to-toe with the not so nimble teachers in a dodgeball grudge match. The rest of the school cheered on the combatants as the dodgeballs whizzed through the air, claiming victims with frightening speed and frequency.
The games ended with bragging rights split evenly between the teachers and students, but it's safe to say that everyone had a heap of fun and the game was played in great spirits.
Please remember that now we are in Term 4 we need to be wearing school hats while we play / learn outdoors. We will be bringing our new Sunsmart dispenser online in the next couple of weeks so the students can apply sunscreen before break-times. Our Sunscreen dispenser is ready to go especially as the warmer days creep up on us.
