Library News

Where are your Library books?

We have started doing our stocktake where we check all the books with the records on our computer system. It is almost the end of the year and we are looking for our Library books. Students will get reminders from their teachers during November. It is very important for the books to return so that we can have all the books ready for Early Commencement, where students begin doing the work for 2022 in their new classes.

We would really appreciate your help in checking what you might have at home which has a St Augustine’s College barcode on the front cover. This shows it is a book belonging to the school. There will also be stamps inside with the school’s name on it. (Check page 13)

Busy Bees

Students have been busy bees in the Library this week completing an assessment piece for Library. Our theme has been ‘Created in God’s Image’ and we have discussed how difference can be celebrated and what things make us the same. The Foundation to Year 2 students have listened to a story called ‘Not So Busy Bee’ by Ruth Waters. Students then added their thumb print to a group of bees and did a drawing of a flower for the bees to collect pollen from. Year 3 and 4 students listened to a story about ‘The incredibly busy mind of Bowen Bartholomew Crisp’ and wrote an ‘I wonder …’ statement as a response to the story.
