Farewell Mrs Gaiser

To our beloved Head of Junior School, Mrs Sharee Gaiser,

It is extremely hard to find the words to express what you mean to us, but I will try!

To your students, you radiate God’s love for them. Your smile brings warmth and invites them closer. They notice as you call them by their first name ‑ they feel connected to you and know they are loved for who they are and who God made them to be. You are generous in the giving of your time; time to speak with you, time to share with you and time to celebrate a milestone, an achievement, or a positive moment with you. You give your full attention to each individual, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated. Your passion for education and desire to ensure each student achieves their personal best shines through all your interactions with them.

Things I know our students have missed and will miss:

  • Waving to you as they walk past your office.
  • Sharing work and celebrating achievements with you.
  • Playing Where in the World is Mrs Gaiser? at Chapel
  • Your warmth and energy.
  • The joy and warmth your smile brings.

To the parents and families of our students, you are appreciated for your high standards and expectations. They know their child belongs to a school where they will be challenged and encouraged to strive for excellence. Sharee, you are approachable and for that you are thanked. With any question or comment, our parents know they can get in touch and will feel heard, validated and supported. Parents find peace in the knowledge that their child is loved, encouraged and celebrated in all areas, not just in their academic achievements, but personal and spiritual ones too.

To the Junior School staff and all school colleagues, you are a valued and inspirational leader, and we know we have flourished in our roles under your leadership. Your passion for education inspires and drives us to be better educators. You have modelled, guided and empowered us to succeed. You have developed our sense of community – creating a supportive and encouraging team. You are generous with your time, even when we may be an interruption or distraction to the task at hand, you stop and invite us to a conversation. Your wisdom and Christian faith bring light to our workplace, inspiring us to carry this light to our students. Your faith in us has given us the confidence to take risks and do things out of our comfort zone. We know we are trusted to make decisions, be flexible and take the lead.

You do all things with God, and we thank you for always putting Him first. None of this would be possible without Him. You are a true woman of God. You walk with Him every day, prayerfully seeking His wisdom, His strength and His courage. We thank you for modelling your Christian growth and showing us His guidance in all you do.

You can step back now and feel proud of all you have achieved at Oxley Christian College. We know that our school holds a very special place in your heart, and it is with a heavy heart that you are leaving. We know you do not know exactly what the future holds, but you can be certain that God has an incredible plan and for this we are so excited for you! We pray a blessing over this new season for you and your family. May God bring you rest, hope and peace.

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him.
Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 62:5-6

To acknowledge Sharee Gaiser’s eight years of devoted service to Oxley Christian College, a special Year 6 end of year award has been named in her honour. The award title, description and recipient for 2021 follows below:

As a Junior School, we want to acknowledge and honour you, Sharee. We hope you feel our love and appreciation as you read the personal messages from the students of each year level below.

Vicky Kirby-Beach

Assistant Head of Junior School

Thank you Mrs Gaiser, we will not forget you!

Prep

The Preps will miss you a lot! You are a kind lady. We love how you always have a beautiful smile with colourful lipstick. Mrs Gaiser, you always look pretty every day. We were so excited to receive a lovely card from you during remote learning. You have very neat handwriting! The Preps have come up with five suggestions to help time pass during your retirement:
- Spend time with your family.
- Relax by sitting on your bed and reading a book.
- Watch TV while eating something you like.
- Make time to watch and keep up with the daily news.
- Write a book and become a famous author!

Year 1

Mrs Gaiser, you are the best and most beautiful principal we have ever seen! You are kind and caring and very, very clever. We will miss your smile and encouragement. Good luck, Mrs Gaiser - we know God has a special plan for you.

Year 2

Mrs Gaiser, we are incredibly thankful for your leadership, support and guidance. Your passion is contagious, and your encouragement is uplifting. God’s love flows through your words into everything you do. We pray that this next season overflows with joy and peace as you follow God’s voice into your next journey.

Ava Colverson (2W) wrote you this lovely poem:

Amazing, thoughtful and kind,
And a very smart mind.
Big heart, polite and caring,
She is very good at sharing!
That is Mrs Gaiser!

Year 3

The Year 3 students and teachers would like to say a big THANK YOU to you, Mrs Gaiser, for your service and all your hard work as Head of Junior School. We will miss your kindness and encouragement. You always make us smile and help us to learn and do our best. We will miss you! God bless you!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

Year 4

We have loved having you at Oxley so much! The smiles and encouragement you gave us helped to keep us going when things were tough during 2021. It was great seeing you in person, but we also thought it so wonderful seeing you persevere through all the puzzles and questions that Pastor Matt threw at you during online Chapel services! Now that you are having some time off, perhaps you can make a few quilts to sell at the Farmer’s Market – we are sure they will be super creative! We hope you have a blessed Christmas and a happy new year.

Year 5

How to be Mrs Gaiser:

  1. Always have a huge smile on your face when talking to students.
  2. Always be encouraging and celebrate people’s unique abilities.
  3. Be kind and forgiving to stimulate growth.
  4. Be supportive and help people through tough times by checking in to see everyone is okay.
  5. Love the colour red.
  6. Work hard and always give your best.
  7. Be open to the ideas of others.
  8. Give your honest opinion to help people be the best they can be.
  9. Be a leader who inspires others to show their leadership qualities.
  10. Look at the heart, not the outward appearance.

Year 6

Mrs Gaiser, we admire the way you demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities. Everyday you inspire us to speak kindly, respond out of love and treat others the way they would want to be treated. You always have a word of encouragement for us and look for opportunities to help us grow. We are grateful that you have been our Principal for our whole Junior School journey and we are going to miss you as we go into Year 7. We hope that you feel cherished in your final days at Oxley. Thank you for being you.
