World Teacher's Day

I know that World Teachers Day was a long time ago (well 2 weeks ago!), but the RHPS staff would like to thank those families who volunteered a plate of morning tea or whose children expressed their gratitude towards their teacher. Although we were in 2 separate 'bubbles' (areas within the school), we had such a delightful morning tea. Thank you so much.

Is your child getting enough sleep?

Has your child been struggling to get to sleep at night? Were the bedtimes not as structured during remote learning, and now it's a challenge to get your child back to bed and asleep?

Well, Smiling Minds have some exciting news. They have created a program full of videos, tips, activities and meditations to support the whole family to sleep better. If you download the Smiling Minds App, you can now find a Families section. They have recognised through research, many people experience trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early and not being able to get back to sleep.

They have also found out that one-third of school-aged children may have sleep problems, which will inevitably affect the amount of sleep you enjoy as a parent. Their evidence-based routines and activities can be completed as a family to give you and your children the best chance of a good night's sleep.

Where do you find the program?

Jump straight into your updated Smiling Minds App, click 'Explore' - 'Families' and then you'll see all of the family-based programs listed. Scroll down and select 'Sleep For Families'.

Tip: To access the new program, you'll need to make sure your Smiling Mind app is up to date!

During the last week, a few students came across a chick (baby bird) on the ground. They believe it may have fallen from a nearby tree. They picked it up and it was placed at the base of a tree in a nest. At the end of the day the bird was found on the concrete out the back of the Boorai. Lily (Prep) and her mum Heidi took the chick to the local vet to get it checked out. Thankyou for the empathy, care and kindness you showed this little living creature.

Orlando  2DH has been showing politeness and social intelligence by holding the door open and waiting for his classmates to depart at the end of the day. No-one has asked him to do this, he simply stands there patiently with a little smile. Well done Orlando!
