It is so wonderful to be back doing Performing Arts classes in person.

The melodious sound of Boomwhackers is resonating through the school.

Boomwhackers are hollow plastic tubes which are carefully designed to play a single note in the chromatic scale.

They are played by being hit against the floor or the body. Each student plays one, two or three Boomwhackers and as a class we can play a full song. Using Boomwhackers not only supports students learning about music theory but also assists in the development of listening skills, timing, co-ordination, persistence and teamwork.

Students in Prep, Grade One and Grade Two have enjoyed playing Boomwhackers this term. They have also begun to create their own Boomwhacker music using handwritten formal notation and Chrome Music Lab. It is great to hear that some students have been even writing their own music at home!

Here are some photos of this week’s Performing Arts classes with Boomwhackers!

Have a great weekend!
