Creativity takes courage. Henri Matisse

Hello RHPS Artists,

There is nothing better than kids, mess and fun in an art room, and that's what is happening at RHPS!

We have wasted no time and have jumped straight into bobble heads and Legacy tiles for our grade 5/6s. The bobble heads are going to turn out amazing. There are so many different characters. The Legacy tiles are truly awesome. I have fired almost all of them and we will begin the glazing process shortly, so these can be displayed before our grade 6s move on. Even our wonderful teacher's have showcased their clay skills for the Legacy art.

The grade 3/4s were all very excited this week, as they began their sewing adventures to make Zenkidu cushion characters. They and I were so proud to see them persist and begin sewing! There were a few pricked fingers but we pushed on and the results are going to be AMAZING!!!

We had a few special visitors in the art room last Friday... Our grade 1s were able to come glaze their space clay from the beginning of term 3 and the grade 2s were able to finally make their clay pieces. These fun creations will make their way home shortly.

I am so happy to have the students back, and we will make the most of the term together, making art and having fun!

Keep Creating,

Mrs. Granger

(P.S- Art smocks will be slowly coming home for a wash..please keep them safe for 2022)
