Welcome

Hello and welcome to the very first edition of The Ivy Voice!

Before we get into the articles, we would like to express our ideology and hopes for this budding project; a student-led newspaper made by students for the student body. All content will be supportive and friendly and will help share many different aspects of school life at Ivanhoe. To display our environmentally friendly ideals, we have made our newspaper digital.

What started as a small idea so quickly became an endeavour to include every part of our school from the primary schools, Plenty Campus, University Campus and The Ridgeway Campus. All from which we received an overwhelming response of enthusiastic writers that are keen to share with you, insights from the School’s smallest clubs and the everyday life of an Ivanhoe student to the biggest projects in an attempt to exhibit the life of our incredible school.

Our newspaper is open to ideas and concepts, involving students from across year levels to write, edit, plan and much more. We want to build a better relationship between students across the School and help them share their perspectives on life at Ivanhoe Grammar School.

Our first issue celebrates the student’s persistence and ingenuity through the pandemic maintaining smiles, including multiple perspectives of online learning in general, co-curriculars and the running of sport from a distance. So, here’s to the cooking misadventures, walking the dog, experimental hair-colours, haircuts (or lack of) and countless hours of tv, Teams and Zoom calls, congrats, you made it!

All the best,

Editors, Harriet and Emilie
