FOOD/VET HOSPITALITY
Last week we welcomed back our VET hospitality students and our new VET Hospitality teacher, Mr Mark Pudney. Mr Pudney replaced Mr Bill Tucker who officially retired at the end of Term1. After a term of online learning, the Hospitality students have started getting busy in the kitchen practising flambé skills, deboning and cooking poultry.
Last term we had two Year 9 Food Projects: Edible gifts and Cake Art. Students finished the term by putting together their final productions. During Edible Gifts, students created foods for gifting which included jams, butters, chutneys, chocolate and cookies. They presented their work in a themed gift hamper. In Cake Art, students learnt various cake making and decorating skills and in the final week they designed and decorated their own cake.
