Principal's Report

Principal - Brea Terris

Assistant Principal -Anthea Mathers

Dear Families,

We are very excited to be welcoming our P-2 students back next Tuesday 26th of May. Students in Year 3-6 will continue with remote learning until the 9th June.

Today you will have received an email outlining the new processes we have put in place to ensure everyone remains safe and healthy when returning to school. We have also included a social story to support the transition back that you can share with your children. We are counting down the days until we see our students back in their classrooms.

While the Chief Health Officer has advised that students will not be required to maintain physical distancing at school, please see below some important changes to our operations, consistent with the Victorian health advice. This will apply until further notice.

  • There will be only two entry points to the school for pick up and drop off. The front gate near the library and the back gate near the bike shed.
  • There will be access restrictions to the school site for anyone other than immediate school staff and students. Parents/Family members will be asked to drop pick up students from a designated spot away from the gate, to discourage adults congregating in the one area.
  • Students will sanitise their hands on their way into school.
  • Classrooms will be open for students from 8.30am.
  • We will be communicating with families Via Class Dojo what house your child is in on Monday. Students in Red and Blue house will enter and exit through the front gate on Wilkinson Drive. Students in Yellow and Green house will enter and exit through the back gate on Coliban Street.
  • Dismissal will begin from 3pm each day to support moving people off site. Students in red and yellow house will be dismissed at 3pm. Students in blue and green house will be dismissed at 3.15pm. Bus students will leave as normal times.
  • Students will need to bring there on named water bottle as there will be no access to the bubble taps.
  • Students are asked not to bring any toys or other objects from home. This includes ipads. If items are brought from home parents will be called to come and collect them.
  • if students are unwell they will be sent home immediately. We thank you in advance for keeping students who are unwell at home.

Curriculum Day

This coming Monday the 25th May, is a State Wide Pupil Free Day.  Students are not required at school and there will be no onsite supervision, remote learning or OSHC program.

On-Site Attendance

The advice from DET has not changed in relation to students, if they can learn from home, they must learn from home.  This will apply up until your child's return attendance date.

There is a criteria students must meet to be approved for on-site attendance.

If you require your child to attend school onsite, you must complete the application form by Thursday 10am the week before you may need to send your child to school. The roster of staff is then completed. An outcome of the attendance form is then communicated on a Friday to families.

With the weather cooling down, please also remember that if a student is even mildly unwell, they and any siblings must not be at school.

Thank you!

Our students who have been learning onsite have been busy making a 'Thank You' banner outlined in their own hand prints for our Front Line Workers. Our students thought it would be nice to acknowledge all the hard work and effort they are putting in at the moment ensuring our community remains fit, healthy and safe.

We were lucky enough to have representatives from Echuca Regional Health, the CFA, SES, Ambulance Victoria and Echuca Police join us on Wednesday for a photo and an opportunity for our students to say a very big Thank You!

Hard Copy Learning Packs

Hard copy learning packs will now be available for pick up between 12pm - 2pm on Fridays. Thank you for your assistance with this.
