CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE@CSPS

The Matific Competition ended, but the maths fun doesn't stop here!

Thank you to all the students and families that joined in the Matific Olympiad Competition Fun. Remote learning was timely in giving our students a chance to participate in the competition. Matific has generously offered our students at CSPS a free trial until the end of June. After that, we want our students and our community to decide if Matific is a worthwhile application for mathematical learning at home and as additional support at school.

Learning Tasks and Semester 1 Reports: Ā Have you checked Compass for your child's Learning Tasks?Ā

Ā

Semester reports will be VERY different this year as we have commenced ongoing reporting in all year levels. The CSPS Learning Tasks provide assessment and feedback on work being completed in class. Each student will have at least 4 tasks posted and available for you to view. At present 2 X Mathematics, 1 X Reading and 1 Writing tasks will be visible to parents.

Ā

At CSPS we believe that clear and timely reporting of your child’s achievements and progress at school is important. Feedback from families during Remote Learning indicated that parents and carers wanted information about what the students were achieving and what the next steps (learning goals) were. The Learning tasks provide this. Ā Check out your child's work through Compass.

Ā

To view your child’s tasks, click the ā€˜Profile’ option for that child on your dashboard. This will take you to their profile page.Ā

Ā

Click to their ā€˜Learning Tasks’ tab. Here you will see their tasks listed. If you have more than one student at the school and wish to view all their Learning Tasks collectively, you can click the pencil icon and select ā€˜Learning Tasks’.Ā

Ā

Click the title of a task to view the details and any results/feedback provided by the teacher. These may include achievement and learning goals or a RUBRIC of 'I can' statements and a learning goal.Ā

Ā

These instructions have also been made available through Compass.
