Boarding

Welcome to our new Mac House staff member – Natalie Povey

This week we formally welcomed our new MOD to the Macdonald House, Ms Natalie Povey. Natalie is certainly not a new member to staff. Many boarders and their families will know Natalie as the Receptionist or first port of call at our Myrniong Campus. Natalie is well-connected to the College community and it seemed a natural fit for her to support our boarders. Not only does Natalie have a deep understanding of the needs of adolescent girls, but she understands and knows our families. Our Macdonald House is even richer in pastoral care support with Natalie working each week as an MOD.

A little about me – Natalie Povey

I joined the College family nine years ago.  I am a mother of two teenagers, Bella and Will. Bella completed her VCE last year during COVID, and is now studying in Melbourne.  Will, who is 17, is a very active teenage boy who plays basketball and football. Both Bella and Will know many of the College boarders through sport.

In my time as Receptionist at Myrniong I have seen many children grow from their first year at the Early Learning Centre to their transition to Senior School. Being a part of their lives and watching them grow up is a privilege, and now extending this to the Boarding House is something I am excited by. I have known some of the Year 12’s in the Boarding House since they were in Grade 4!

Many of the boarders I know already, as I love to play hockey and have competed against quite a few in our local competition on those wet and cold days at Pedrina Park. Having spent much of my time at the Junior School, I am now also looking forward to being a part of the “other end” of the children’s College journey.
