Assistant Principal

9 & 10

Ms. Julie Ryan

At the time of writing, we are currently locked down and the school is in a period of remote learning. At this stage the length of the lockdown is unknown, but the college stands ready to support our students to ensure that they have continuity of learning at this time.

Year 9 and 10 students should be checking their weekly outline from their teachers via Compass and should also be logging into Teams class sessions to ensure that they are staying up to date academically, but also have some routine in their day. You can help your child by ensuring that you are aware of their schedule and that they have a space in which to complete their work.

It is important that at the end of the school day, students have some time away from their devices and that they do seek some exercise and time outside of the house even if this is a walk around the block.

There are a number of school extra curricular activities that needed to be cancelled last week and this due to the lockdown. This list includes; interschool sport, excursions and the Year 9 and 10 exams. I urge students to actively prepare for these exams which will take place when possible.

When we are able to be onsite again, it is imperative that students wear a mask appropriately, all of the time in line with the health advice. It is a student’s responsibility to ensure that they have a mask on their person at all times if they are over 12 years of age. If a student has a medical exemption, documentation can be provided to the general office.

I wish you all the very best during this short lockdown period and I am very much looking forward to being onsite at the college again as soon as the health advice allows this.
